Europe...and we're still blogging!

Hey all! This wont be a long message, as we are in a hostel in Nuremburg, Germany so the computer we ar using is all screwed up with things like: Ä Ö ü ß and the 'Z' key is where the 'Y' should be...ugh.

A quick update...
We arrived to a snowy London on 16Dec with nothing but the light sweatshirts we wore on 'cold' nights in Kenya. Needless to say, we were FREEZING! It actually snowed for most of the week there which was beautiful and we celebrated an early Christmas with Simon's family.
On the 23rd, we boarded a plane headed to Prague to spend Christmas and New Years with my dad, brother, and their significants. We met my dad and his wife Blanka at the airport. We were waiting for them outside the baggage terminal (we arrived an hour before them) decked out in santa hats, holding a silly sign. Prague was incredibly beautiful. The little cobblestone streets were incredibly beautiful. Most of all, it was so wonderful to see my family. Like I said, I will not spend the time telling you all about it until we get back home to Birmingham mid-Jan and can upload pictures, and type on a frindlier computer...

We left Prague on 02Jan and headed here to Nuremburg. It is evn colder here! Today's high was -3 celsius with a low of -15...although it did snow heavily pretty much all day, which was fun. We've done some sightseeing but regretably found that the entire Old Town City literally closes down every Sunday. EVERYTHING! even Starbucks!!

Tomorrow we head to Munich for 2 nights, then Innesbrook, Austria for 2 nights, and then ending in Geneva to visit some friend's of Simon's for about 5 days. It's going to be busy but fun! Hopefully I'll get Simon on some skis while we're there! We fly home from Geneva on the 14th and will then have 2 weeks to prepare and pack for our 3 months in SE Asia. Go Go Go!

Again, sorry for the delay in posts. Stay tuned. We'll be posting pics from our Europe travels shortly!

  2. I just spent a half hour getting caught up with your blog - it had been a loooong while since last checking in but trust me, I've been about you all the while! I'm so happy that things are going well and am truly enjoying reading all of your stories. I actually laughed out loud to the story about you two never feeling closer than when discussing outhouse squatting techniques and the merits of each! I look forward to reading more soon! - Becky
    PS. Happy New Year!!
